Join us for a special art exhibit commemorating the 5-Year Anniversary of the Tigray War. Featuring work from artists from Tigray and in the diaspora, this powerful event will bear witness to loss and demonstrate the resilience of the Tigrayan people.
“Remember Tigray: Five Years of Tigray Genocide” brings together over sixty artists from Tigray and the Tigrayan diaspora in Ethiopia, Kenya, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Israel, Saudi Arabia, France, the United States, and the United Kingdom. This transnational exhibition foregrounds art as a site of testimony, cultural memory, and resistance, centering the aesthetic and political work of Tigrayan artists responding to the ongoing genocidal war that has devastated their homeland since 2020. Through painting, photography, poetry, music, film, and digital media, the works offer critical reflections on displacement, loss, and the collective punishment of Tigrayans, while refusing to erase their histories, identities, and futures.
